Meet Polina, our Junior Frontend Developer! She joined Seaber in March 2024 and has been a great addition to the team ever since.
Polina's originally from a small town in Karelia, Russia, not far from the Finnish border. A few years back, she took part in a university exchange program that brought her to Oulu, Finland. She liked it so much she decided to stick around, eventually moving to Helsinki with her partner after finishing her degree.
How she found her way to Seaber is a bit of a fun story. She was job-hunting for frontend roles and, having already worked in shipping tech, literally typed “digitization in shipping” into Google Maps — and there we were! She sent in her application right away and heard back the very next day.
At Seaber, Polina focuses on the frontend side of our software — basically everything the user sees and interacts with. Some days she’s building full-on new features, other days she’s tweaking styles or fixing the odd UI bug. No two days are quite the same.
Before joining us, she worked at Technodar, where she developed interactive UI components for ship monitoring systems — all while juggling university studies. It was a hectic time, but she kept everything afloat (pun intended!).
Outside of work, Polina’s always on the move — she loves cycling, volleyball, and playing the piano. But her biggest passion? Travel. Her goal is to visit every country in the world, no matter how remote or challenging.
